Fly Fishing and Tying Classes

:: Introduction to Fly Fishing
This class is designed to help first-timers and beginners alike learn the basics of fly fishing, including casting, knot-tying, equipment selection, fly selection, entomology, and real-time experience fishing on local waters during the prime fishing season. The class will be led by Jason Haslam and accompanied by other Fly Drifters guides. Please contact us if you're interested in this class. This will be taught in a group setting with other students. Individual one-on-one classes can be arranged if scheduling allows.

When: Saturdays, 8:30am-4:30pm, dates are TBD
Where: Provo River
Cost: $275 per student
* Includes lunch, flies, and the use of waders, boots, fly rods and reels, unless you prefer to use your own. A Utah fly fishing license is not included.

 

::Fly Fishing: Beyond the Basics
This class is designed for the fly fishers with some experience in fly fishing that would like to take their skills to the next level. This will be a hands on class that will focus on techniques that will improve your confidence in fly fishing many different situations on the river. This will be taught in a group setting with a limited number of students. Individual one-on-one classes can be arranged if scheduling allows. Some of the skills that will be covered are:

* advanced nymphing techniques
* line mending and control
* dry fly casting
* reading the water
* entomology

When: Saturdays, 8:30am-4:30pm, dates are TBD
Where: Provo River
Cost: $225 per student
* Incudes lunch and flies. It is strongly encouraged that students use their own fly fishing equipment. Arrangements can be made if you need to use some of our equipment. A Utah fishing license is not included.
